I am so not a morning person, but as I uncover my parrot's cage in the breakfast room every morning I say "Good morning sunshine" to him. One morning when my hair was especially hideous, my coffee looked and tasted like tepid bilge water and the weather outside was as foul as my mood, my parrot looked at me flirtatiously and said coyly "Morning Sunshine!" I couldn't stop laughing which just encouraged him to say it again and again. Now every morning and sometimes throughout the day he greets me with his perky "Morning Sunshine" greeting and it always cheers me up. Mornings are a lot better now and I know it's not my coffee, which hasn't improved at all.
